(Don’t forget the giveaway in Wednesday’s post!)
(7 Hours later)
Have I some lovely pictures for you!
You know that I am a seamstress and needlework buff and so was
my companion for the day…the lovely
Mandy from Bittersweet Folkart.
The quilts we chose to focus on were the hand done quilts.
No disparaging the other type
(machine pieced, machine quilted)
BUT
even if you do not do needlework, you cannot dispute the
HOURS of handwork in these beauties.
You can see that we are the traditional types and I did not snap many pics of the Gorgeous Art quilts displayed but they were very beautiful too!
Enjoy….
I see this is a bit blurry….sorry
This final quilt was Best in Show
Hand pieced, hand appliqued, hand quilted
Stunning….
The work was amazing…I wish you could see it in person.
Of course…the Kiss Kiss award goes to this quilt.
Of course the vendors had
all sorts of quilting supplies and fabrics
vintage fabrics and quilts,
vintage buttons and trims
vintage sewing “stuff” of all kinds
and assorted antique and vintage sewing related items.
I bought these (small) items.
( vintage quilts were in the $300 range)
antique spindles, antique spool,
a handmade adorable strawberry
a blue Ball jar with wooden spools
My intrepid partner in crime is a Brit
so , of course, I snapped this
Ta-Ta til next week then….

Looks like loads of fun. Love those quilts.
I can’t sew and appreciate so much those who can. Those quilts are nothing short of amazing.

Those quilts are amazing. I love pretty ones and just wish I could afford them.
Hi there, Just stopped by from Heaven’s Walk(saw your comment)and love what I’m reading. Oh the quilt show, to be sure, would be a delight as I am a quilter-specifically hand and I agree with you that it takes so many hours and so much love. I’ll be back to visit again.

Thanks so much! My MIL made a king size double wedding ring completely by hand…took her 7 years I think….can you imagine?
