As you can see from the title….this is a multi topic post today!
OK…paint….specifically Powder River Paint.
I’ve been using this paint for awhile now and showing you some of the pretty colors.
Kay Mount, the designer/creator/genius behind this paint has recently updated the website and I wanted to share it with you.
One of the really great things she did is on the Color Chart page. When you click on the color, you get the little backstory behind it!
So cute!
This little business is a real home-grown company and I love that!
No complicated list of steps to contact someone, no “press this number” voice menu, no “wait for the next representative” stuff.
Small can be a problem sometimes I suppose, but it’s also nice to know that there are real people there too!
I hope you’ll take a minute to visit the website and read the story of how the paint was created and especially read the “color stories”….Bandana cracks me up!

Next…Haven…which also has to do with Powder River too!
I’m SO excited about this!
Kay and Bob at Powder River are sending me down with a PILE of free sample jars for you to try! They are choosing the colors so I can’t promise I’ll have them all but we should have a pretty good sampling!
Only one to a customer because I need room for all my SWAG and shopping at the Pottery Barn Outlet…..but you can team up with a friend and try more than one color!
So…find me at Haven….get a free sample and I’ll also give you a 10% coupon toward your first online or shop purchase of Powder River!!!
Finally…hydrangeas…and more hydrangeas….
It’s supposed to rain here all week, off and on. So, I am cutting hydrangeas for drying and trying to find enough buckets to put them in!
They sure are pretty aren’t they?
I have to find more containers! This is just from a few bouts of cutting!
I love them when they are blue and pink, but these colors when they start to turn are my absolute favorite….just stunning!
It’s always a gamble each year as to how much color they will retain but I sure hope they stay like this!
One last picture…..sigh…..
I’ve moved some furniture into the house so I can finish up these pieces….it’s just too hot in the garage!
So, hopefully I’ll be showing you a nice feminine desk in Powder River’s Teton…a very pretty lavender!
Off today to IKEA and Hobby Lobby…..a three hour drive to both for me….but I can’t wait!!
Do you have an IKEA or Hobby Lobby near you?
Love the hydrangeas! Thanks for posting about that line of paint. I have yet to try it …will check it out. My Hobby Lobby is only 30 min. away, so much easier than 3 hrs.!

Ooooh, ooooh, I want a sample, Lorraine! I’ll track you down since you told me where I can find you at Haven. ; ) Your hydrangeas look stunning. I haven’t cut any in weeks. I love when they turn those colors, too. They just look so soft and aged. We had some rain yesterday so I should go out and see if they’ve revived so I can cut some.

Gorgeous post, Lorraine! The Powder River colors are soft and appealing..especially surrounded by all those beautiful hydrangeas.
Wish I was going to Haven, but you’ll surely report back to us about your adventures.
I hope you cause a riot. Do you have your stun gun charged? You might need it

Lorraine, thank you for the gracious kudos.
Wish we could be in Atlanta with you. Sounds like you are going to be in excellent company. Well… maybe except for the stun gun. Oh well, what happens in Atlanta, stays in Atlanta. (Famous old Southern saying)
Best,
Kay
I don’t know where I’ve been but I have never heard of that paint. How nice that you are giving out some samples for people to try. I think your hydrangeas are just beautiful. Ours are pure white but if I wait a bit they will turn green. Love the color of yours- xo Diana

I can honestly say that I love Powder River Paint and I’m sorry I won’t be at Haven to meet you and get a free sample! The hydrangeas are just lovely. I am lucky enough to have 2 Hobby Lobby’s …20 minutes away..but the nearest Pottery Barn is like 4 hours..one way. Darn!

Your hydrangeas look a lot like mine! Save a bright sample for me—oh, wait…I get to pick first!
Two things–I have a Hobby Lobby thirty minutes from here, and we might get a tropical storm in Hotlanta. I have been told plastic cups and plenty of wine are in order.

Gorgeous hydrangeas. I’m so bummed I’m not going to Haven. I was so looking forward to it. I hope you have a great time. I know you will be the belle of the ball.

I planted my first hydrangea last year and it’s already blooming in bright pink with white centers! The plant is quite small but it’s flowering, yay! Yours are so lovely, hope to have that many one day to dry them! Lovely paint and colors too, one day, one day I will get to do these projects. Yes, I am very lucky to have an IKEA (the only one in MI) and a hobby lobby within 10 min drive from my home. Wait, are you in MI too? I couldn’t figure that out, wish I could come to get your samples though. TFS!
