I worked on a few of my thrift store finds yesterday after
THE KIDS WENT BACK TO SCHOOL
{in case I didn’t mention it yesterday}
Here are a couple before and afters
Remember the vintage botanicals in the old frames?
Before
After
The botanicals really show up better with a lighter frame
don’t they?
Remember the vintage ladies?
Before
After
These received an undercoat of dark gray, a gesso wash and then
some Annie Sloan dark wax for antiquing.
Better?
And finally, my beautiful plaster bust of the little girl

Isn’t she lovely?
Do you have a hard time selling the wonderful things you find?
I do.
I want to keep all of these!
I may just have to….they’re not THAT large…
I can find somewhere to put them….
Can’t I??
Please???

Oh I love what you have done with them all. I have a similar project with a garden bench I have just bought. Put a before picture on my blog and will only be putting an after photo on if my titivating looks half as good as yours!
I dont know what I am doing really?! Oh well fingers crossed.
How did you strip down the wooden frames – they look fabulous?
I’d love a mooch around your shop – just the small matter of the atlantic stopping me!
Best wishes
Sophie
That bust looks amazing with the gray finish! It looks just like stone.
Love those changes.
Well done!
You did such an incredible job on those pieces! They look freshened up without losing any of their original charm and character. 🙂 Well done!

Your re-do’s are beautiful! My favorite is the little girl bust!
They do look much fresher and the prints pop now. Hugs, Sherry

What a nice look on the frames. That little girl just has to be my favorite. Glad she gets to stay with you for at least awhile. I popped over from Treasure Hunt Thursday to visit. Stella
